That last fast day got me thinking about all the wonderful food in Israel. Obviously it's Kosher heaven, but the indigenous stuff is absolutely fantastic. AND you can't really get it anywhere else. I'm talkin' about Shakshuka, Shnitznel Laffa, all those amazing coffee drinks (with a shot of something extra- wink, wink) and of course the amazingly fresh produce.
I'm getting fatter just thinking about it.
Time to close my eyes and wander into a beach town between Tel Aviv and Haifa. I'll pick up a Sabil sandwich (no Tahini, Baba Ganoush please), cool mint tea and some Israeli salad to keep it healthy. We've got ten minutes before we hit the beach . . . what are you ordering?
So today I escorted two friends who are visiting to Caesarea...the beach is glorious, the weather superb, the ocean a stunning blue, the ruins amazing....and there was a gelateria with ice cream to die for! Think frozen chocolate fudge...or Lani's ice cream which was a grapefruit sorbet so light it was closer to lemonade....
ReplyDeleteWow! Pretty much the conclusion to my fantasy there! Give me a few hours, I'll met you there. :-)
